Invisalign®

Black background.Invisalign® delivers the same results as braces, but it uses clear, removable aligners, making it a flexible and discrete alternative.  Patients who use Invisalign® will receive a series of clear aligners to wear 22 hours per day. With time, this will result in a better-aligned bite.

Invisalign® aligners are clear and they don’t use any metal wires, bands, or brackets. They’re more comfortable than braces, and since they’re invisible, many adults prefer to use them over traditional braces. You won’t need to adjust your dental hygiene routine or diet–just take them out before eating or brushing.

What Type of Problems Can Invisalign® Fix?

Invisalign® can resolve an array of orthodontic issues, similarly to braces. The overarching goal is to give you an aligned smile.

Here are some of the most common issues Invisalign® can treat:

  • Overbite: Upper front teeth close in on lower teeth
  • Cross-Bite: Upper and lower jaws don’t line up
  • Gap Teeth: Extra spaces between teeth
  • Underbite: Lower teeth jut out past upper teeth
  • Crowded Teeth: Not enough space in the jaw for teeth to comfortably fit
  • Open Bite: Top and bottom teeth don’t completely close together

If you don’t have any of those problems, but just want straighter teeth overall, you may also be a candidate.

Are You a Candidate for Invisalign®?

Some adults do opt for traditional braces, but Invisalign® continues to increase in popularity. Advantages of the trays include that they’re removable, comfortable, and invisible. Plus, for most patients, treatment times are shorter, often lasting less than 1 year.

As we age, many of our smiles shift place. Many patients who wear Invisalign® aligners as adults had braces when they were younger. Others never had the chance to wear braces, but want to achieve the smile they’ve always wanted now that they’ve reached adulthood.
